I tried to collect as many of Olly’s fire references as I could on this reread. This is the last one. I both apologize and get a small devilish thrill for anyone who was fooled by Olly’s behavior. There’s clearly some sort of mental break going on, and that can look oddly like clarity or compassion from a certain angle. Eve’s boss has always walked the line of ruthless schemer and helpless victim. But with the store doing badly, his decline can almost seem virtuous. Maybe he IS just a cog in the system, a more powerful one to be sure, but one who understands Eve’s plight and wants to nurture her as a way of paying forward his success. Haha… yeah. |
Panel two: Eve is trying to chameleon herself out of sight but just can't?
The cooldown on that ability is a bit too long to use it again that quickly.
Can't decide whether to run, fight, or hide?
how often do you get people saying olly is kinda a DILF in this page
Olly’s nose is pretty great
"There’s clearly some sort of mental break going on, and that can look oddly like clarity or compassion from a certain angle."
por que no los dos
Yeah I'm not sure Olly's in any particular state that's not normal for him and that includes some tempered compassion for the street rats he casually exploits to run his business.
Listen, if I can't reframe my mental decline in the face of my cosmic helplessness as a virtue, what can I do?
The lighting effect of the window against Olly's silhouette is just…*chef's kiss*
So, I was a huge fan of the comic on its initial run and have been thoroughly enjoying keeping up with this go-round alongside Gran's awesome commentary, but really just wanted to take a moment to say that Olly's use of the phrase "gnarly kiss cabin" brings such joy to my life.
Olly looks super hot in the last panel. Last time I reread this, when I saw that panel, I messaged my boyfriend to ask him if he thought he would go grey/how soon that would be.
