I read it as a comment on the banality of (modern) art
Sometimes art hits you in a way you weren't expecting. You might fine it banal, but it might make someone else cry. Art is weird like that.
Reminds me of the International Klein Blue painting at the Musée d'Orsay in Paris. Similarly magnetic.
