Kind of a clumsy one, I think. The zoo creature is meant to look like Will, and almost be conversing with her. And Hanna’s hangup line is sort of a riff on disbelieving a person on the phone who’s “walking out the door”, etc etc. I think I was feeling off when I drew this – kinda just pushing through to the next one. |
that's a great final gag, and the deer DOES look like Will. I think it works!
Oh, I loved Hanna's hangup line. But I also read it differently. Instead of a riff, I saw it as her dismissing 'still in bed' as spending the day, which, well, summarizes her troubles with relaxation here.
I love that Hanna quietly takes Eve's suggestion from the previous page.
I don't know how the deer being meant to look like Will translates to it having fangs, but I'm willing to go along with it.
