Oh man, the give-and-take rollercoaster continues! I love how Mar's already just sitting down and getting out of Jane's way. She's not doing great at maintaining some sort of perfect version of herself beholden to nobody else, but she also knows that if you want to give that best version of yourself breathing space, you gotta get the extra-curricular stuff outta the way first. And Jane has a *lot* of extra-curricular stuff going on.
I only consciously registered this because of that last panel where Jane's pulling her sweater off in such a distinct/coded (and cute!) way, but now that I'm thinking about it, I love how all the characters do have their own ways of moving. (Even more than just 'body language,' I mean.)
(Also, so excited to see Marigold and Jane again :D)
Jane has skills. She's a member of this makerspace, the expert on/maybe the builder of their dimensional portal. Same with the Guild of the Ristretto: they've got a dimensional portal, and she does tech stuff for them. http://www.octopuspie.com/2015-07-20/807-as-a-tee…
If Jane comes back with a goatee I'm going to be afraid….

Mar and the hot girl from before. Sharing a drink.
Oh boy…
just when you begin to forget octopus pie takes place in a universe subtly weirder than our own, something like this happens.
You don't have one? Did you miss the opt-in period for gateways? Man, that's gotta be like being the last person let into gmail.
Yeah, I thought the last strip might have been referencing a role-playing game or something. I guess they’re serious.

I love how this strip gradually becomes more and more surreal as it goes on.
This is the funniest thing I've read this week. Thank you, Meredith 🙂
I am now essencing curiousity and impatience. Much more and I shall become an insufferable amalgam.
Actually, I thought the strength of their relationship was Mar finding a place in Janes world, not the other way around.
This ought to be good.
