I recently read a quote by Wally Wood that was something to the effect of, “never draw characters the same size anywhere on the page”. It was a real Oh Shit moment for me, the perpetrator of many panel crimes. I still think the more contemporary moment-to-moment panels get a pass (like the last 2 on this page, for example). But the rest… very same! It deflates the drama somewhat, and just doesn’t make for as nice a package overall. |

That beat panel is great though. Especially with the only difference to the last panel being the eyes.
